Bergen County Sheriff's Youth Leadership Academy

Hello everyone,
Saturdays meeting will be moved to Tuesday February 10, 2015 from 6:30pm-9:00pm. It will be held at the Bergen County Jail. Be advised this will be the Jail tour. The following meeting will still be Tuesday February 17, and that will also be at Bergen County Jail, from 6:30pm until 9:00pm Please, if you haven’t already, finish listening to the serialpodcast.org. Also Tuesday March 17th meeting will be moved to Monday March 16th.

Squad Leaders please call you cadets to make sure they know about the change.

Cadets please be advised that we are going with the original meeting location ( Bergen County Jail). We will meet at the Jail and walk to BCI. This will help with the limited parking spaces at BCI. Thanks

Cadets be advised Tuesday’s meeting is NOT at the jail, class we be held at our BCI building located behind the jail. The entrance to the service road leading to BCI is located off of River Street. When facing the jail the road is located to the right and immediately next to visitor parking. Please arrive as Captain Gatto stated at 6:15 with pickup at 9pm. Due to the sensitive nature and importance of our detective unit if an emergency occurs and our Dectives are unable to conduct class I will send an email promptly to where our new meeting place will be.

Cadets,

The fall season kicks off many great things, another school year, football, holidays and another chapter in becoming tomorrow’s leader’s. This Friday night 6:30pm sharp, all cadets are to be at the Bergen County law and Public institute (Police Academy) in Mahwah. Our swearing in and promotional ceremony will commence at 7:30pm. Cadets are to arrive in full Class A uniform, no pt gear or waters bottles required. Please be advised if your coming from southern Bergen county, it could take approximately 45 minutes with traffic to arrive. Cadets can bring as many family/friends as they wish and pictures and video are allowed for the ceremony. Parking is located in front of the Academy. Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

Saturday morning all cadets are to report to the Academy in full Class A uniform at 8:30am and bring with you, pt gear, water bottle ( labeled correctly) and writing material. Remember we are a team and we all will Reach great heights TOGETHER. Have a light yet effective breakfast and get a good nights sleep. No jewelry or makeup. “HELL DAY” to conclude at 1pm.
