WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Posted by Officer Aimee Mehnert at May 11, 2012 10:41AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Calling ALL Cadets and Instructors! Today is the day you need to step up and make a difference in someone’s precious life. Each year, Sheriff Saudino conducts a “Sheriff for the day program” for children with various illnesses or special needs. This year Jason and Justin will be our Sheriff for the day. Below, you will find information from the organization that is committed to helping Jason and Justin. Please read through the information and collect as much of the donations that they are looking for. All donations are due to Officer Aimee Mehnert AT the May 16th class. Any help, big or small, will mean the world to Jason and Justin.

Jason, age 5, and Justin Leider, age 3, of Elmwood Park NJ, were diagnosed in 2011 with an extremely rare and fatal genetic disorder.

Sadly enough … the devastating effects of the disease will take control of their little lives which usually results in their passing between 10 and 15 years of age. Hunter Syndrome literally eats away at all their organs, muscles, joints, and brain, leaving them unable to walk, talk, eat, and recognize their family and surroundings. As of today, there are less than 350 children in the United States who have Hunter Syndrome/MPSII.

Please accept this letter as an introduction to our organization. The “Let Them Be Little X2” Trust Fund was created to raise and provide the financial resources needed to support the unexpected medical expenses that the Leider family will endure throughout the next few years.

Let Them Be Little X2 is hosting the 2nd Annual MPS Awareness Walk (sponsored by the Knight of Columbus of 2842). Any donations or promotional items, no matter how BIG or small, will be greatly appreciated.
• Individually packaged….. snacks candy chips cookies
• baked goods fruit granola/fruit bars coffee tea sugar/milk/cream
• bubbles stickers small toys crayons/markers coloring books
• promotional items
• monetary and/gift cards to help purchase what is needed

On behalf of the Leider Family and Let Them Be Little X2, we would like to “thank you” for your consideration, support, prayers, and for the giving of your time.

The document Jason and Justin was attached to this post.

Great job to all of the cadets who attended the Martial Arts class this past Wednesday, March 21st. Keep up the motivation and dedication, and remember to take all of the skills, especially leadership, and apply them to every aspect of your lives. Remember, you all represent some of the best and brightest of Bergen County. You have shown that you are motivated and dedicated individuals who care about making a difference in your own lives and the lives of those around you. Walk proud.
